Hi, I'm Londa from Portland, Oregon. Here I am at the beautiful Mirabell gardens in Salzburg, Austria. This is my second trip to Europe. My first visit was when my daughter graduated from college in 2016. We explored nine countries in 21 days along with Marlon, my German exchange student from 2015, and another exchange student friend from Taiwan. I was so captivated by what I saw that I have been dreaming of a return visit. Imagine my excitement when my mom said she would join me as long as we took a Rick Steves tour. No hesitation on the answer to that. I've watched his shows and dreamed of this for years.... let's go!
This is my mom, Karen, overlooking the lovely village of Hallstatt, Austria. She is from Happy Valley, Oregon which is just about 20 minutes away from me. This is her first trip to Europe but she and my dad had traveled before to Australia, Alaska, Hawaii and other west coast places. After listening to my stories from Europe she was curious to experience it for herself. At 77 years old she did an awesome job keeping up with our tour group.

So many beautiful doors in Europe! Look for my Door of the Day pictures throughout this tour. This one is in Trier.
I've spent weeks weighing my items and selecting lightweight clothes so now I'm packed and ready! I found out I have sleep apnea (thanks to my daughter taping my snoring on our 2016 European trip) so I now use a cpap. I brought an extension cord but never needed it. I also never had to open the case for TSA.

It was sad to tear the book apart but now I don't need to carry the whole thing everywhere I go. That's a tip I read on the Rick Steves Travel Forum. The Forum is a great place to ask questions and read about other traveler's adventures.
Mom Wow!
Mom spelled upside down is Wow! Look for this box on each page and see my mom's European Wow moments.
